I bought a new battery yesterday and the new fuel level sending unit was delivered. The new carb is supposed to be delivered today. The fuel tank has been shipped so it's on it's way but no solid delivery day yet. Does not look like the weekend will be a total wash out so I may be able to do some wrenching. If I can at least blow out the fuel lines, install the new fuel pump and carb I will consider it a win.
Ordered a new front rim for the Benz. I am already tired of having to add air every other day. No word from either one of the insurance companies yet.
Still working on the house. For the past 3 days been doing demo to get rid last of the cat pee damage from ex-wife's cats. Another dump run today. So far this year about 4500 # to the dump. May start putting laminate down today.
We thought we done with demo . I was finishing up in LR and could smell the pee. Started cut small sections of sheetrock out when I got to the bar it was so bad Debra almost got sick. So we have to take out one set of cabinets and the bar to replace subfloor.
Moved over to dinning room could still smell it there not as bad as bar. There was a partion wall between living room and dining room behind the front diir we took it out have to replace subfloor there also.
We are a work stop for at least today. I broke my right big toe yesterday. I was putting a 1/4 sheet of 3/4" ply on the table saw and dropped on my toe
Ouch,
Been there do that before. I dropped a tire / axle assembly on the top of my foot a few months ago from a flex wing mower. I know I broke it but never said a word. There is a nice scar to remind me to slow down a little.
Decided not to work on the truck just yet, not raining right now but still yucky outside. The is a line of heavy rain heading our way so I will hold off for now. Hopefully later today or tomorrow will be better. The new fuel tank is supposed to be delivered on Monday. Worse case I will do a little each day after work.
Glad to see every one is doing well. I pulled my 33 ft Airstream home yesterday. I have a lot of work to do on it since it had been through a couple of floods. The Betty the Beast pulled it with no problem. And with the HD rear end suspension, It barely squated the truck. My old ford squated much more. I'm loving that 8 ft bed. Plenty of room . My brother explained what a live axle in the rear was. I left 2 black snakes on the pavement showing out for my brother. Turned traction control off
I'm trying to figure out were to start on the Airstream. I'll probably pull all the linolium and carpet up and repair any flooring. And to I may try to salvage the AC DC converter. Maybe take it apart and clean it up and cross my fingers. I don't have a clue about the gas lines but surely the stove eyes didn't let any water past the switches. I'm sure the fridge is probably shot. All my cast Iron needs cleaned and reseasoned.
Here is a link to a video my sister in law took when the water was up to the windows.
Wow, you did get flooded out.
Yesterday was a wash out. Drove the wife to take her last batch of birds to the auction. We took a nap then I watched the Georgia Football game. No damage from the storms other than the pool is full of leaves. Heading out to start working on the 79. If I get everything installed I might try to rig a gas can up in place of the tank and see if I can move it to in front of the car port.
The new carb was a perfect replacement, the fuel pump was not. The old pump will not even pull fuel from a gas can right under it. Ordered a new one but earliest it will be here is Friday. Blew out the fuel line from front to back and installed a new fuel filter.

Since im waiting on cab corners to finish the floor, id do the rood so I dont have to stand on the frame to work on it. pass door, both fenders primed and undercoated. Did the core support as well, no pics. roof before I finished it out in 80 for primer, parked next to it is the murdered mopar.
It's rained here all weekend. I've done a whole lot of nothing lol. I left my popup with my brother. Hope he does a little work to it. The Airstream took major floor damage.I won't know much until I get the carpet and lanolium taken up. I have to unload a good bit out of it before I can even start any work.
I may strip it down and redo it from frame up. Put my own personal renovation on it. Upgrade a few things to the 21 century. I've been looking at how some other's have been modernized and I have been wanting to get a king size bed back there where those 2 single beds are at. But that is just one of the ideas I have. Probably more than I can take on. My health isn't what it used to be.
Almost no rain here on the coast, but they were calling for it. The wife and I worked in the yard most of Saturday and went fishing for a couple of hours this morning. Spent some time working on a small generator we picked up yesterday, now waiting on the parts to finish it. Hoping to get some minor stuff done on the 95 next week and finish in the yard. Then I can worry about getting one of pecan trees cut down asap (anybody have a bucket truck I can barrow?)
Congrats on the engagement Jacob!
We had one small tree fall on the horse fence. I cut it up, threw it back in the woods and pulled up on the fence where it fell. Was too easy.
After the rain stopped I ran around and put the new stickers on the tags and the new registrations in the glove boxes. The new front rim for the Benz is supposed to be delivered today along with the new fuel tank for the truck. Hope to learn the fate of the Dodge this week.
Currently trying to figure out my engine/trans situation. Cab should be on the frame next week and I plan on getting the wire harness ran and front clip mounted but I need the engine/trans mounted before. Ive got a line on some bad mutherfuc1in heads, and if the price is right ill get a full roller c4 built trans with them. Next year itll get boost so ill get a cam next year, but I want the heads, intake and carb for the wedding. I should have all the body components I need to finish the truck minus handles and stuff so I can book and build for the next month or so.
7.5 months for a full frame off restoration done by 1 dude and his fiance when she decides to grab a tool...... Someone call guiness.
The new fuel tank came in yesterday for the truck, the new front rim for the Benz also came in. Wife took me out to eat for my birthday so I didn't do any work yesterday. I will try and get the new sending unit installed and the fuel tank mounted tonight. Need to take home a line wrench and vise grips because the hard line coming off the old fuel pump won't budge with a regular wrench. I'm pretty sure it's been on there since 1979. My wife won't turn a wrench but she does bring me cold drinks when it's hot outside or she will go visit her mom in town and let me work. She has never complained about me wrenching so it's a win.
