Noticed a small oil spot on the floor of the garage. I've been notice a very slight smell of burnt oil or burn coolant for a while (6 months?), but could never find anything. Even had the truck in for service and told the tech I thought I smelled some fluid burning. very faint... Said he saw no leaks anywhere.
Now finally its enough to notice. First picture is looking through the front passenger side wheel well. 2nd picture is looking up from the bottom of the truck.
I am thinking valve cover. Might try to wipe it clean when the motor is cold. Hard to get too, but worth a shot.
I had the truck in to replace the DEF heater last week (unfortunately not under warranty) and he said valve cover.
Truck has 57,000 miles. 5 years 1.5 months...
My radiator went out at 33,000 miles 3.5 years...
Turbo went out within a couple months of delivery. (only thing actually captured under warranty)
I think I'm done with Ford Trucks.... I upgraded from a large trailer-able boat to a yacht. Could get away without the Super-duty now... Don't need the weekly haul. After all these problems.... The Rivian is looking really good.
