2012 6.7 PSD, deleted and tuned. I've been trying to track down a few issues and in the process I noticed that there are some non-oem lines on the back of the primary degas tank. I compared it to my neighbors '13 6.7 and it looks like I'm missing a piece, also the little pump on the back runs non stop. My neighbor's seems to shut off after a little bit. I haven't been able to find any info on what this thing does and/or why it was removed. Can anyone help me out?
Top red circle is the pump that runs not stop.
Middle circle is the spot where my neighbors truck has a part. Almost looks like a diaphragm of sorts.
Bottom circle is to show where the non-oem line runs to, and where the other port is blocked off.
** underneath the bottom red circle, coming out of the wire loom, is a vacuum line that is cut. I assume it used to go to the port that is now blocked off. Where does that line go?
It looks like they cut some wires. It looks like a low water sensor on the bottle.
On the far circle there is supposed to be a valve with some electrical connections.
Second circle there is supposed to be another valve type looking thing
Trying to upload a photo wish me luck.
Then you can see what is missing. Not sure why this stuff was removed. Had nothing to do with the tune
Thanks for the input guys. When you refer to shift on the fly, are you referring to the column button shift? I can try that tomorrow. Does anyone know what the two vacuum ports in the bottom circle go to? The left one is completely blocked off and the original line is cut. Is the vacuum pump supposed to turn off at some point or run all the time?
Thanks for the pics man. It helps to see what yours looks like. I'm going to look at mine closer tomorrow and see if any of the wires have been modified or not.
According the drawing, theres 2 lines going down to some device called a vacuum tube. I'm not sure what that is. And there's a vacuum line going to the brake booster.
That is the 4 wheel set up . The part that is missing is the check valve that feeds the auto hubs . The part you're calling a motor is a solenoid that controls the hubs that lock your front wheels into 4 wheel drive or unlock them. The reason that one part sounds like it is running constantly is the fact that check valve is missing partially and the other is the switch may be faulty.
