Temp sending unit
Could someone tell me where the Coolant Temperature Sending Unit on my 1986 F250 460 is located. Also what is the sending unit screwed into the top of the Thermostat Housing?? I am confused

Thermal vacuum switch. It only allows vacuum to pass through when it reaches operating temperature. I don't have a vacuum diagram handy so I can't tell you where the lines go to but they usually control multiple functions like EGR and timing advance.
