What is the difference?

Ive ran Torque pro on my 02 F250 w/ 7.3 and didn't get any DTCs but I ran FORscan Lite and got several.

Whats the difference and do I really have this many issues with my truck?

TP is aesthetically pleasing, but very temperamental and unreliable at times. Forscan is ugly, but works 99% of the time.

Yes, you really do have the codes that Forscan pulled. Although, that is not uncommon and the codes should be reset or cleared and tested again after a short run cycle. Codes can stay stored for a very long time and might not be relevant any longer.

TP - Good to look at and used for monitoring

Forscan - Reliable and used for troubleshooting

Also, does IYAAYAS mean anything to you? My father was Ammo for 26 years in the USAF is where I know that acronym from.

IYAAYAS... If you aint Ammo you aint ****.

Didnt have much need for the Moniker as I was Army EOD. I made things come from together and played with UXO( Unexploded Ordnance) things that didnt function as designed. Like the movie Hurt Locker but on a more realistic scale.

Anyway, Ive ran all the test that I can in FORSCAN , I have several codes but dont want to throw parts at an issue.

IT starts, it idles about 3 minutes it dies or it starts, i drive it and while comming to a stop sign it will die but start right up.

The following are new and OEM.

IPR, ICP w pigtail, fuel filter,fuel pump relay fuse, CPS(grey), oil change (15w40), batterys, 4x4 actuator vacuum,

What test should I run and what should I look for? I know the obviously answer is "Run them all" and "Report your DTCs" here

I have just ran the 1st test " Key on Engine Running on Demand Self test" it went through the paces and I though the truck was gonna blow up..
came back with P0476 Exhaust pressure control valve malfunction.

Well, I figured you were Ammo or EOD and since my father was Ammo I took that route.

I was very familiar with EOD personnel in the USAF during my 5 deployments and being assigned to a tactical communications unit for a lot of years.

On to the codes thing.

Do you have a tuner? Some codes are set by certain tuners.

The only things you cannot monitor with the PCM are fuel pressure and EGT's. EGT is not your problem, but fuel pressure might be.

We have seen a weak fuel pump a few times that would allow for idle but die when applying throttle.

Speaking of that, have you checked the IVS and TPS both associated with the throttle assembly.

You have hit some of the typical fixes already, but not the right one yet.

Can you log data or monitor data as the engine is idling and dies?

Didnt get a chance to log the data as she now wont stay running long enough to do but I have completed all the test in Forscan Lite on my phone and it found the following DTCs.

NO Tuner.... 2002 F250 Superduty 4x4 w/ 7.3 and 163k
only mods are a Banks cold air intake and an aftermarket , inline 34 row transmission cooler with Fan for Towing heavy trailers.

P0284
B2184
P0476
P1536

DTC in GEM is B1483

DTC in IC is U1027 and U1262

DTC in PCM is P1280,P1670,P0381,P0340,P0470

I understand that some of these codes may be the result of other issues.

One that jumps out to me is P0340, cam shaft position sensor. Easy and cheap to replace a CPS. Inspect the wires too.

He has a new CPS gray, so if it is CPS related, it may be the wires or the connector.

UPDATE:

Truck was put in the shop and it failed the Benchmark test for the ICP as $378.00 later and shes back on the road..... thanks for all the advice.
