Got the ForScan and OBDLink MX today. Trouble connecting
At first, I only have FORScan in my iPhone 6. Plug in the OBDLink MX+ with key on engine off. Turn on blue tooth on iPhone. Connect to the OBDLink MX+ after pushing that little button in the front, then it shows connection is made. Open the ForScan app. Hit connect no connection. Says no ELM found.
It’s possible forscan iOS isn’t setup to look for elm devices on anything other than WiFi since until recently there hadn’t been a BT option. Does the regular obdlink app connect?
When it comes to these things I am clueless but I read a lot that iProducts need a WIFI adapter and that is what I got, I have to problems with it. It was a VeePeak adapter from Amazon for under $20.00

With the popularity of the OBDLink devices, I imagine forscan will add compatibility for them given time...it seems like they make regular revisions to their applications...perhaps an email to the developer to inquire about when they will be adding support for the OBDLink MX+ in the iOS app will yield you a timetable...
i realize at $30 it is a few bucks more then the generic eBay ones but it’s still hundreds of dollars less then AE program.

the full Forscan program on a Windows 7 computer is far more useful better then the Mobil app and you can get a very suitable computer on eBay for $60.
A refurbished rubberized case Dell Lattitude 2110 with Windows 7 pro is $59 and makes a perfect Forscan setup.

Was trying to do that yesterday. There is no way to contact them, no phone number, email once so ever. only way is to have a debug message sent to them from within the app. The problem is that the error message "could not find a ELM device" does not make it into the debug list.

obdlink mx has never worked for me with forscan. torque pro or any other program yes, but not with forscan.
used the one linked above and forscan works perfectly every time.
Why are you guys opposed to buying the exact unit Forscan says works ?
this is the only unit Forscan recommends for iOS use.

Your FWIW will not work with the OHP - according to the chart above. It seems one must go iOS, or anything else - or have two adapters. I would opt to looking into finding out if they can get FORScan to play nice with the MX+, then you would have the quality and features of the OBDLink, along with the cross-platform versatility.

That's a shame, you may have had a defective unit. My OBDLink MX works with everything I've tried, except the iPhone I got rid of.

FTE used to preach AE, but things change. The FORScan forum will likely flip the record and try a new tune when options become available.
