Vibration with acceleration
Hi, new member here.
I just moved up from a reliable! 6.0 to a 2012 6.7 with 115k miles on it. The truck seems pretty tight (aside from a turbo oil leak) but I'm stumped on a vibration it has.
I can best describe it sounds like tire hum. Its only there when pressing the accelerator, let off and it immediately goes away. Definitely louder at lower speeds/higher load. When coasting I can make the sound by just very lightly pressing the accelerator. Does not change through the transmission shifts. 4x4 is working normally (ie transfer case/hubs aren't engaged).
Pretty vague I know. All the U joints seem tight.
Where else to look?
I'm obviously a 6.7 noob and very paranoid about my expensive purchase. I'm picturing a humming crank bearing or humming high pressure fuel pump....haha.

I have a 2006 f350 5.4l with about 64,000 miles on it that I think has the same noise you have. Only occurs under acceleration. Was told it was the rear pinion gears going. Haven’t done anything with it because it’s just a plow truck and gets about 1,500 miles a year on it. Has done it for maybe four or so years.
