Anybody have any suggestions on how to get a stuck rear sliding power window closed ? Its all the way open and will not close at all, won't budge by hand either.
The motor is getting power because I can hear it click when the switch is pressed. I had my brother tap the motor while I worked the switch back and forth still no go.
I tried getting it started closed by hand while my brother worked the switch, still won't budge.
I'm at a loss on this one guys !! Luckily the weather is supposed to be good overnight, but I have to get this thing closed.
We tried about everything last night after dark with no luck.
I'm going out now to try working on it some more now that the sun is up and I can see a little better.
The cable was bound up inside the motor it would appear.
We couldn't break it loose for nothing so I just cut the cable and closed the window by hand..The whole motor assembly is riveted, so unless you want to drill the rivets out, there doesn't appear a way to take it apart to free up the cable. We did verify power to the motor BTW.
I'll just take a small piece of Gorilla Tape and tape the bottom of the window to keep it shut.
You will have to replace the entire back window. They cost about $500. I had to replace mine once already but for a different reason. Safeflight replaced mine. They had them in stock. It's only a ford part though.
Just had this happen to me again on my 2012 F-250, I pulled on the window while my Son constantly toggled the switch and after about 10-15 minutes, it finally moved
a few times all the way to the closed position. Had this same issue on my 2007 F250, replaced the motor and cable tray, bought parts from dealer. Did not need to replace
window back then. Would like to fix now so this doesn't happen again.
