In addition to FoMoCo, the T-98 4 speed was installed in several other manufacturer's vehicles. As NumberDummy mentioned, the T-98's were put in Ford trucks up through 1964 and were essentially the same. The exception was in the larger Ford trucks which had a parking/emergency brake assembly mounted on the back side of the trans case and a lever mechanism bolted to the right side of the case.
The T-98 in the picture came out of a '58 F-100 and was once owned by infamous FTE member Martin Torres of Woodland, California fame. It is bigger and heavier than it looks in the picture. Notice there is no provision for a sliding driveshaft yoke. That is accomplished by a splined yoke inside the driveshaft. I believe the bell housings used with these transmissions are engine and transmission specific.

Here is a picture of the right side of my T-98 from an F-100. The access hatch for what I assume is to facilitate a PTO or transfer case is different from the trans in your pictures. I am not familiar with the 4x4 models. Maybe the fact that you drive on a different side of the road has something to do with the apparent differences in the transmissions?
