just make sure the steering gear is centered, before you adjust the wheel.
It's possible, the gear was 100 (or 50%) left (or right) when you install it. Before you adjust the wheel, verify you have the same # of turns left and to the right.. better to only adjust it once!
Ok well it looks like it is different for 2wd, at least in my case. There's only an adjusting sleeve at each wheel not in the center. ....
The 2wd steering linkage is not like in the diagram.
The 2 adjusting sleeves are at the outer rod ends on each side.
The steering can still be centered, you just have to adjust both sleeves the same amount in the same direction.
The adjusting sleeves are used to adjust toe-in, but when both are turned say 1/8 turn , the toe-in will not be changed, the linkage length will remain the same length.
I need to do the same adjustment on ours except the other direction, just haven't gotten to it.
Not sure which way moves the steering wheel clockwise.
Both of my adjusting sleeves point down, so I'm going to rotate the sleeves 1/8 turn the same direction and see what happens to the wheel.
The 2wd Excursion steering linkage is very similar to this pic.
