I was returning from a 400 mile trip with a bed full of chairs and loud air swooshing noise starts coming from under the hood. It sounds like it is coming from the center of the engine and I can smell some exhaust fumes. The noise happens when the turbo kicks in and I am now throwing a code for underboost on the turbo. So I go to the dealer and buy the CAC tube to replace it since you can't buy the boots separately. One end of the tube is straight forward on how it connects, but the other looks like some type of quick connect. Has anyone changed this part out before
?
That piece of wire shaped kind of octangular spreads apart like a giant slip ring. It's easy to spread it apart and work it out of the notches. The o ring gasket is probably the resistance you feel where you might think "I shouldn't pull too much harder". Just keep working it.
What engine do you have? 6.0? 6.4? That does not look like the cold or hot CAC tube for the 6.7. You might want to ask your question in the correct engine Forum
