I have a 2016 Ford F-550 with the 6.7L engine. It is the chassis my RV is built on. I keep hearing about regeneration and how often it happens. How do I know it is happening? I have no messages or warning lights going off.
You will see a message, VERY briefly, on the console. It's only there for about 3 seconds and easy to miss. The easiest way to tell is the fuel mileage will drop to about 1/2 for about 20 minutes.
Many owners have had the DPF ghost screen enabled on the console, takes about 10 minutes for a tech to do it, you can do it yourself if you are tech savy. There are many threads about this, search for DPF screen or filter screen. With that enabled you can scroll up to it on the console and see the % full. When it hits 100% you will get a regen within a minute or two. The message that it is actually happening still only comes up for about 3 seconds.
