1953 F250 Disk brake conversion + ring/pinion swap

Hello all; first post.

I picked up a 1953 F250 and have been tearing it down for a rat build.

My first order of business is the front brakes. Ive dug though the forums and made some phone calls but I can not come to a consensus, so here it is

Are the spindles on the F150 the same as the F250 and can they accept a conversion kit like these?

Front Disc Brake Conversion Kit | 1953-56 Ford F100 | LMC Truck

1948-1956 Ford Half Ton Deluxe Disc Brake Kit, 5 x 4-1/2 Inch - Free Shipping @ Speedway Motors

1948-56 Ford F-100 Disc Brake Conversion, Front 5 X 4 1/2

obviously replacing the master cylinder and putting in a proportioning valve.

second; is there any way to put in a new ring and pinion gear to replace the 4.86 gears; or should i just put a new rear axle in?

Thank you for the help.

According to the Ford parts manual for 1953-56 it looks like they are the same (Model C = 150 & Model D = 250) but not the same as 1948-52.

Yes, CD available from https://www.hipoparts.com/1948-56-fo...ts-catalog-cd/.

On the CD there are PDFs of the text and illustration manuals. I just copied them to my hard drive so I could access them quicker without fumbling for the CD.

If you are going with a 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern on the front then you should look at an 8.8" Ford read axle. Mine came out of a 2001 Explorer Sportrac.
