That is going to vary a lot by location. Around here and by my standards, that is a pretty rusty truck. I can find better ones with clear title in the $500-$700 price range. No title it's parts only and maybe 500 tops, although I wouldn't pay that for it. It might be worth a LOT more where you live.

I would also say $500. You could part it out and maybe get $700, but that would be a lot of work for $200.

Depends upon the rust and how bad. Does that engine turn over or run? That 2 speed has some value if it is a high ratio but over all that is too much in my humble opinion for a truck in that condition. Lots of good parts though.

Not $5000. Surface rust is easy, cancer is the bad stuff. I would bet that the driver's running board is rotted, hence the cover. It's a nice start, but not a $5000 start. To somebody in the Northeast, that truck would be worth a bit more. But for me, in the lower west, that's a $750-1000 truck, because of the title mostly. If it was a 1/2 or 1 ton, it would be much more.

About 500 bucks also. I have a similar truck I paid too much for, (2000.00) but a buddy wanted the dump hoist for a grand, so we split the cost. I have seen many more like these for about 750.00 or so on CL and they are in Eastern Washington, which is a very dry area. Mine came from Minot ND. I'm not saying you shouldn't find a great old jailbar ford truck and restore it, I think we would all be thrilled if you got one, but maybe not that one. Mine came from Dick and Mike's Hot rod garage on the web. Shipping was 900.00, which my buddy also split with me and that was half way across the country. In a nutshell, get a super dry one and pay the shipping. In the dry West these trucks are just laying around and nobody is interested in them. For one thing it would take 3 hours to drive it to the next town ..... Look around, and have fun. It can e a real blast GB

It looks like the vacuum canister for shifting the two speed axle. Bernette, I was thinking of mentioning how you brought one that was very rusty back from the dead and seemed to be having a good time doing it. It is possible with the right skills, but he shouldn't have to pay that kind of money for a good starting point.

IMHO $5,000.00 is way too much even with the title and 2 speed. A couple of years ago I sold a running '40 1 1/2 ton cab and chassis with an 8ba and current YOM plates for $,3000.00 It was converted to 12 volts and had a 3 speed Watson auxiliary trans. It needed cab corners but other than that the body was in good shape. Big trucks don't bring much money at least here in SoCal. If it had bee a p/u I probably could have got 3 times what I got for the 1 1/2 ton. Again, JMO.

i paid 500 for mine. it was rusted and wore out had no papers, but it was all there. if you take your time you can find alot better for that kind of money. the boys here spot nice trucks often. like gb you can get one shipped for less money than it would cost to repair the rust.

A year or two ago a local guy was getting rid of a collection of fire trucks. nice 1945 Ford with good rubber and only 3000 actual miles brought $2700 on ebay and the 46 with 7,000 miles and good rubber, $2400 IIRC. Right now I know where there is a well faded but really straight 42 fire truck with 16,000 miles for $1300. It has a whole set of new chrome jailbars still in the box laying in the front seat.
