*37 Pickup Wiper Motors*

I just pulled the wiper motors out of my pickup. Can someone tell me if these are the original 6v motors or aftermarket? My pickup is running a 12v system and one wiper worked for 5 min when I got the pickup. Can the 6v motors run on 12v? Thanks.

They are aftermarket, the originals were vacuum, not electric. I would guess with the 6 that's it's a 6 volt. You will need either a reducer for the voltage, or just replace them with a 12 volt replacement. If you run them on 12 volt you'll end up burning them out.

I've got several Bosch units in my stash of parts that I know are 12 volts. I'll check the numbers on them. If yours are 6volts and you hooked them up to 12 volts they would have ran real fast but most likely not for very long.

When I bought the pickup the wiper on the drivers side worked for a while. The one on the pass side was not wired up. Since the pickup is 12v I would assume they are 12v but not for sure. I made some mushroom shaped metal plugs to cover the holes til I can decide what to do.
