Question The bottom of the motor

Hi I was wondering, because Im a beginner in auto repair, so is this bad in a 4.2L
?

Drain Plug

I don't know why their's extra threads on the bolt.
I don't wanna screw it all the way back in.

Being a beginner I'm not sure what to do
I need some advice on this please

Welcome to FTE!

It looks like your drain plug has a helicoil insert repair. Scroll through this to see how that works. This is an engine case, but it works the same on any thick casting with threads:

Was the plug oil-tight?

That's too bad. You may end up putting an oil pan on it. I am so glad that the truck has plenty of ground clearance so I can change oil myself. It may be possible to tap it to a larger size and use a different screw and hi-temp silicone washer. If you tap it you'll have to flush out the oil pan before putting in the new oil. You can use used oil for the flush.
