i have a 68 with a 302 and currently undergoing an engine rebuild. Looking to convert to a roller cam setup. Any recommendations on brands/kits? Any draw backs to a roller cam setup on a 77 302?
There is no downside. The best part is you won't have the fear of wiping the cam and won't need high zinc oil.
I recommend having a builder who is experienced with your particular motor put together a package for you. It's important to get the right cam, lifters, valve springs, distributor gear, etc for a roller setup.

2x per 65Ford.
Also for the type of driving you'll be doing with that sbf. engine if auto trans or stick tranny.

Don't get a wild cam just for the sound of it.

he sent me this one to look at this morning. He said this would be all I need with the other parts I ordered. Opinions? This link is for flat tappet cam. Looks like you need a small base cam with roller lifters to use with the conversion kit in an old non roller block.
218/268 is about the most duration I would run for a DD. Above that you may not have much vacuum for pwr brakes.
