Wheel question

For the wheel guys.

are the rims for the 38,39 1.5 ton the same as 1.5 ton 40-41? (will they fit)?

I know that there are different types of rings but I am curious about the fit only on this post. May have a bunch of nice ones coming my way.

They'll likely be the very same, or at least similar, wheels. Bolt pattern will all be 5 x 8". Both 20" and 18" were fitted during that whole era. You may have varying rim widths., and varying center disc offset positioning. The narrowest width being 3.75", more common being 4.33", and others wider for special applications. Single rear wheel styles also were used back then. If any that you get are 18"s I want to know about them. Also I can help you identify what you have based on Budd numbers. Stu

We put the wheels from my 1940 1-1/2 ton panel fire engine on a 1935 fire engine while the wheels from the 1935 were being painted and getting new tires. Worked fine.

Yeah, Ford went to the 5 x 8" in 1934. The AA and BB trucks were 5 x 6 7/8" pattern. Stu
