You'll have to remove the entire DPF/SCR in order to delete the DEF. So at min, you will need a replacement exhaust pipe from DP to stock tail section right before the rear axle.

Then you'll need a tuner and a tune to delete the DPF.

You're looking at somewhere in the ball park of $700-$800 for that setup depending on what you get.

Roughly $200 for piping, $400-$500 for tuner, $100 for an emissions off tune no HP gain.

Doing a delete...yeah, time consuming and from what I have heard, can be a bitch.

I opted for the EGR block off plates. simple install and easy to put back to stock if you ever need to.

Here is a start, I have no affilation with any company and I haven't deleted any of my trucks...

Flo~Pro CAT/DPF Race Pipe | 2011-2017 6.7L Ford Powerstroke | Dale's Super Store

(Delete pipe $179)

Here is a Kit - tuner - and pipe:

Punch-It Performance PIP Max Competition Tuner & 4" CAT/DPF Race Pipe | 2011-2015 6.7L Ford Powerstroke | No Bungs | Dale's Super Store

($873)

-- Never heard of the programmer used - but you asked for cheap/easy. Says it will allow EGR block off as well. But doesn't bring the block off plate.

I just purchased my egr/dpf delete through Mikey's diesel for $1100. Got the sct Livewire, flow pro delete pipe, and river city egr delete. Got free shipping too. Good deal.

I deleted mine a few months ago. Purchased a MiniMaxx tuner and EGR/DEF/CAT delete pipe from Rudy's diesel (around $1K). It took two guys around 6 hrs (no rush) to complete the whole process. I decided to remove the cooler after a courtesy call to WI DMV and verifying that I do NOT need emission testing. That was in Oct 2016. Now the law has apparently changed and I can't renew plates without passing an emission test. Otherwise the truck's been running great since then, no issues yet (except for a death wobble). Although everyone claims an increase in MPG, mine dropped from 14.9 to 13.9 and staying there. I can't run a higher tune (still stock) since pyro readings cause the tuner to defuel (the OEM pyro probe doesn't communicate with MiniMaxx - readings vary from 32 up to 2600).
Btw did anyone have issues with passing emissions in WI?
If I pass I'll get new pyro kit from Rudy's, otherwise everything has to go back to stock I guess.

Yes.....removing the EGR is a very detailed process and complicated if you completely remove it and rerun all of your coolant lines. You have 3 options with it that I can think of:
1. Unplug it. I do not like this as you can run into many other issues down the road.
2. Block off Plates (Second best option)
3. Remove the entire EGR and rerun the coolant (Best Option)

looks like i have a few decisions to make, what are the benefits of the EGR delete other then not having to worry about it getting plugged up and the cost of repair/replace?
thank you all for the replies

It really unclutters the passenger side of the engine bay! If you want to do it really right, get the Ford factory EGR delete kit!

Just run the egr blocker plates. Prevents any soot build up. The only gain with a full delete is a couple pounds shaved and some extra room. Cons are a whole lot more Labour and if you have to put it back on for any reason you will be upset you didn't just block it off. 5 min vs a couple hours for minimal or no gains.

thank you guys , I haven't had the time yet to research the EGR delete, correct me if I'm wrong please, all the the coolant lines will stay intact and operate as normal if I do just the block off plates and the programmer will handle the rest? my goal is for it to be easy/not to costly and longevity

I had no idea Ford made an EGR delete kit, thank you for sharing pics UGA33

Yes, coolant lines will remain with the block plates. You will only be removing the exhaust pipes from manifold to EGR and from EGR to intake. Tune will take care of the rest. I went a step further and unplugged the 3 connectors as well. Not really necessary since the tune does it's job, but for my own sake I unplugged. You can see the plugs in my thread (link in sig). This method is so easy and quick. And if you ever have to return to stock...20 minute job tops.
