Just realized my 64 f100 has a hole dead center of the roof, about 5/8th diameter with a little round metal pop in plug in it. Looks to me a stamped hole and there also is a hole in the factory headliner that matches up. Only problem is it started to leak water and ruined the headliner. Anyone know what this was for? Spotlight? Antenna?
I was thinking antenna hole too, for commercial or private CB radio. Many believe the roof centre is still the best spot for antenna mounting, compared to a fender mount.
I had a center hole in mine as well , welded it up while doing body work . My truck was originally a County owned vehicle which had a yellow spinning caution light on the roof . It was exactly center in the roof and a wire ran down to the ignition switch with a inline fuse .
my truck had a part of a antenna in the center it wasn't leaking until I power washed it
all the years of hocky puc came off and it started leaking... so the hole has a welded plate in it I could see it could of been a big problem with a head liner in it
