My 66 F100 2WD was converted to power steering from PO. Has Ford P/S gearbox from either 73 or 74 F100 (from what the PO remembers). It is the Ford gearbox, not Bendix. My question is what steering column bracket do I need? Research shows it has to say "Power Steering". My current one has nothing on it and is in good condition. I am installing an IDIDIT tilt column. Can I use the one I have with no issues or do I need the correct "power steering" one?
The power steering bracket that goes on the engine side of the firewall will be shorter than a manual steering column bracket and the two lower bolt holes will be slotted. It will also have "POWER STNG" stamped on it.

The Bendix PS gear box was phased out of production by mid-'69, when it was replaced by the Saginaw PS gear box.
Thanks for the reply. The one currently on the truck from the PO is the one shown on the left, which he used with the power steering. My question is there any issues if I still use it or do I have to get the power steering bracket? If I do need to get the one for the power steering, anyone have one they wish to sell?

if yours is like the one on the left, then it looks like all you would have to do is modify it by removing metal as necessary to turn it into the one on the right.
In that case, I'll use the one I have. Column shift is now a floor shift so could be no issue. I let you know once I get the column. IDIDIT identified the wrong column and I had to send it back for the right one. It's always sumthing........
The semi-circular portion of the PS support bracket is located higher up on the stamping than the same portion on the manual steering column support bracket. By the time you tried to chop down a manual column bracket, there wouldn't be much of this protrusion left.
Simplest remedy is to rob the correct bracket from a mid-'69 through '72 Ford truck with power steering. There are only (4) bracket bolts that have to be undone and takes all of maybe 5 minutes or less to pull it.
If you cannot find a '69-'72 Ford truck to get the shorter PS bracket from, lots of Dentside trucks had them. The only thing you would have to do with it is drill a hole at the upper end at 12:00 o'clock. The upper hole on the Dentside PS bracket is located at 1:00 o'clock.
