Speedometer needle "Jumps"
While driving home from work I noticed the needle jump from around 55 to 70 on the display, then settle back in at 55 ish. First I just caught it out of the corner of my eye, but watched more closely, and it did it again as I drove.
The tow/haul override button on the shifter was blinking also, (as if it was "Mad" about something)
THEN I noticed that the jump of the Speedometer needle was linked to when I changed from High to Low on the headlights, and vise-versa

I was NOT in cruise mode
The voltmeter did not EVER waver. (I thought that the increased current might be causing a temporary problem of sorts)
Thoughts on where to start looking?

If that doesn't help, replace it.

EDT: after re-reading and seeing about the headlights I would pull the cluster and headlight switch and check the connections too.
Yes... or a bad ground. If it's like the earlier trucks the signal from the rear diff goes to the ABS module and then to the cluster and transmission module (going by memory here).
The fact that the the tranny light and the cluster showed issues leads me to think that it is in an area up-stream of both or common to both.
A greater systemic connection issue or ground issue could cause weirdness as the signal is not strong to begin with too.
I would still clean the sensor.
