Speedometer Problem

My speedometer is doing something weird, hopefully, someone out here will have a solution. I have a 2000 F250 SD and the speedometer will only work about half the time. Seems like if it's not working, I can stop and turn the motor off, start it right back up and it will work. It either works fine or doesn't move at all. The odometer works regardless. Anybody seen this before? Any suggestions on what's going on? Thank you for any help.

I've been reading some threads where the needle was jumping around & sometimes the OD light would flash.. That seems to usually be caused by the speed sensor on top of the rear differential.. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give some better advice..

Another thing that I have noticed is that when the speedometer is not working, the cruise does not work either. If the speedometer is working, the cruise works. Please help.....
