Anyone have a factory two tone that can tell me the height of the factory fender flares. Not that excited about the 17's so I'm looking at 16's, and of course the options are somewhat limited.
I like the looks of the stock fender flares, but the aftermarket ones I'm seeing either seem really small or really large in terms of height. I'm guessing they're around 4 1/2" or so. Really should have measured them when I was looking, but I figured I could always ask here.
not sure I understand what you are talking about on the height of the fender flares on a two tone. Is this a DRW or SRW you are wanting the measurements?

SRW. The factory two tone paint job comes with fender flares.

That's the basic style, but those look like Lund street flares instead of the ones that come from the factory.
More specifically, I'm talking part numbers bc3z-16039-aptm & bc3z-9929165-aptm, and of course the corresponding numbers for the other side.
I'm trying to determine if it's better to buy factory flares or aftermarket.
Here's mine with the factory unpainted flares. Put them on right after I bought the truck. If you go this route you'll have to get the corresponding hardware to mount it, and it's all sold separately. They do go on really easy and the fit is second to none.
What's so special about the mounting hardware? I figured self tapping screws would work.
There are already existing holes in the fender that line up with the mounting holes in the flares. If you get the hardware you get all the clips and screws so the metal isn't damaged from self tapping screws. I probably spent $15 total on the hardware it isn't bad.
