So i bought a replacement fro my Motorcraft 2150 from National carb. My old one was a 2150 with electric choke assist on a 1978 F-150 with a 351M Auto and 4x4.
Below are the pictures of what came off and the one they sent me. they both seem to be 2150s, but they have several differences.
I just want to know if i can slap this thing on plug up the un-needed vacuum ports and be good.
also, the power valve on the bottom is the tall version and will not clear my EGR spacer. Can i just swap my short one in ?
Any help is appreciated.
Different ribbing and ports.
/diffferent /thorrtle linkage with that white rollwer thing.
I have been searching FTE and google for a few days and I'm still no closer. If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated. Even if its just a bit of the info I am looking for. Thanks in advance
I wish all the carb swaps I did where that close. It'll work just fine. Just plug the extra ports and run with it. The white roller thingy on the linkage is for a truck with cruise. The extra ports are just that. Extra. If you don't need them, cap them off. Swap that giant power valve housing for your small one, bolt on and go.
You guys rock!. Thank you. I had a limited window to return the unit ... and you can't install it and return... so i was hoping someone would shine some light. Thanks Again!!
like alan said plug up the extras!!!.. maybe on the taller power valve cover you could just use one of the thicker (isolater) type gaskets.. they do help keep the carb cooler also
