Sorry to post here, but I have not been able to find an original black pickup mirror for the passenger side of my 1940 panel. The driver mirror has a 9" long arm, 2" hinge, and 5" head. No repro shop sells anything to match. Have been unsuccessful at swap meets, google, ebay, craigslist, etc. Does anyone have one they are willing to sell or have a lead on one? Thanks.
Join the club Mike! I've looking for one (bracket, arm, and mirror) for drivers side for a long time. Seems to be as scarce as hens teeth. If I can't find original stuff I plan to fabricate something that will work. Or how about one of those back-up cameras? Wonder if they come in 6v?

I bought a black 5" round mirror for my p/u from the local parts store and modified the mirror arm so the mirror would fit. The mirror arm for the big trucks is longer than the repop p/u arms with 4" mirrors that are available but the hinge width is the same. You could buy a p/u mirror arm and lengthen the arm and add a 5" mirror. Drake sells the repop p/u mirror arm assemblies in black but they are 4". I have the part number of the black 5" mirror if you're interested. I went through this exact mirror issue with my '40 big truck before I sold it so I know what a PITA finding mirror arms can be.
Seems like the hinge bracket wouldn't be too hard to fabricate. Truck-lite lists an adjustable mirror arm that looks about right and there is a guy on eBay selling 5" round mirrors. This is my "plan B" if the search for OEM fails.
My panel has the 9" pickup mirror arm, not the longer (14"?) big truck arm. I think the repro black arms are close enough to use. I cannot find a mirror head that matches my existing one. Does anyone know if my existing mirror head is the original configuration?
Mac's has a black 5" mirror head labeled non-authentic (Part#: 28-21935-1; Alt Part#: A17741MHB) that has the same metal contour as mine, but has (3) screws instead of (2). I guess I could buy their black arm with the stainless head (Part#47-15570-1; Alt Part#50-17741) for $60.35 and buy (2) black 5" heads for $9.95 each and call it a day.
Saw a set of vintage west coast mirrors on eBay that the guy was very "proud" of. Besides the steep price, I didn't want to drill a bunch of holes in the doors.
A friend is doing a frame off restoration of a 1942 Ford fire engine that came to him with west coast mirrors. They were one of the first things to go.
Good news. Fred Wilmer at SouthsideObsolete.com (507) 332-6789 has mirror arms for pickups. They are p/n 50-17741A, painted olive drab. Look on the 1935-1936 page of the website. Per the Green Book they fit 1935-1942 closed cabs and panels. Length is 9-1/4" (website lists them at 6-1/4", but Fred checked for me today to confirm the 9-1/4") for a 2" hinge. They are arms only for $24 plus $3 shipping.

Did he have the mirror itself for you or was it just the arm you were looking for?
Fred has the brackets for sale. I asked about dimensions and neglected to ask about the other parts. I was not home when he called back with the dimensions. I have to call again. Just finding the bracket was great. I'm a newbie and one success at a time is about all I can handle. We're also looking for an 11" flywheel for a 1935 fire engine. Snowed in today in Webster, NY so I'll make some calls and look on-line. I know I've seen hinge pins and MAC's has 5" black mirror heads, although they are not authentic. I still have to get the pins out.
