I have been trying to get the wiring back to stock. When I purchased it was full of relays, and additional fuse boxes, probably for powering the stereo system and amps.
I have attached images of of my main focus points, the ignition and volatge regulator.
I have three wiring schematics but they all are conflicting with wire colors.
The ignition is marked:
ST
BAT
IGN
ACC
There is a red/blue wire going to the solenoid, I or S terminal?
A pink wire which turns to brown also going to the solenoid, I or S?
There are two yellow wires connected to one red traced back to solenoid.
Then there is a lose white or faded yellow wire from the single speed wiper switch, which I believe should goo to the ignition switch as well.
The regulator seems to have the correct colors to it, but again, conflicting colors and locations in the wiring diagrams.
Sorry about that.

Standard cab model, large round speedo with fuel and temp gauge.
Also has factory ALT and Oil pressure gauges to left and right of speedo.
Sounds/looks like a lot is jacked up. It appears the voltage regulator has been replaced with an electronic (pointless) type, but the wire placement should be the same. I'm guessing a little here, but the red/blue should go to the "S" terminal on the solenoid. The "I" terminal on the solenoid usually has a brown wire that goes to the coil. The faded yellow (if coming from the wiper switch) should go to the "ACC" terminal on the ignition switch (which could also have other "accessories" connected). Not too sure about the other things I see. Hope this helps.
Agree with hardley and would add, don't look for the brown wire from "I" term, if the harness has not been untaped, it joins the coil wire in the harness after the Pink resistor wire. The Pink wire goes on the "IGN" term of the key switch and originally it would have been a red pigtail with "green female bullet" connector maybe 2 or 3 inches long and it would plug into the pink wire that had a "green male bullet" connector from the harness.
The electronic regulator is a plug and play, did mine a couple years back.
Just checked my truck, here goes, volt regulator wires..
1- F term--WHITE
2- S term--WHITE with Black tracer
3- A term--Yellow with a second yellow wire, short, with female bullet connector and
it isn't hooked to anything
4- I term--Green.
Solenoid, S term--RED with Blue tracer
Coil Wire, ---------RED with Green tracer
needed to add, I don't think it's a good idea to cut the resistor wire. After you get all sorted out and truck running OK, with engine running, check the voltage going into the coil and post it back here. At this time I don't know the proper running voltage, someone else can tell us.

Reason: addition
Thanks so much,
I might be getting to the bottom of this.
Just went out and traced wires, I have painstakingly removed all factory tape just so I can see whats going on.
From the solenoid:
Brown wire from "I" terminal runs to harness connector at firewall.
From the + coil there is a Red w/green tracer that merges with the brown wire from solenoid at harness.
This merge turns into the pink wire going to ignition.
The red w/ blue tracer from "S" terminal on solenoid goes straight through to the ignition.

On this last line, do or should you mean, The red w/blue tracer from "S" terminal goes straight thru to the START TERMINAL OF the ignition SWITCH
