Still white grey smoke post injectors

Hey guys so I replaced the rings on all 8 injectors put in 8 new glow plugs and a relay. My truck is still putting out grey/ white smoke at start up. It goes away after about a minutes. Truck runs a little rough a first then smooths out. I know some smoke after doing a job like this is to be expected but I was thinking I t would go away by now. I've been running through my head what I might of done wrong but I can't think of anything.

Does it just need all new injectors and not just rings ?
This has been very frustrating
2001 f250 7.3
Thanks all

If the oil was mixing with fuel...how did the fuel filter look?

You probably have a tank full of mixed fuel and oil...

I would guess it will take a couple of tanks to thin it out...

How many miles have you driven since install? Do you have good compression?

Are you tuned or untuned?

Whether you are or not, sage advice is contained below:

Truck is untuned I think the previous owner did though.
I don't have a scan tool to test compression.
But there is blow by coming out the oil fill cap, not enough to puff the cap off.
I've been driving it since last Saturday about 75 miles from then to now. It doesn't smoke at all once it's warmed up.

You'll need a manual pressure gauge, adapter to go in the glow plug holes, and hose for the compression test. Someone on here should be able to link you to the setup from HarbFreight. A scan tool won't do it.

The least expensive way to get into a scan tool: Forscan...adapter = $10-15 and the software is free for a laptop.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...the-cheap.html

Sometimes previous owners will have a tune flashed directly to the PCM. So, there could be one on there without any physical clues. Look at your PCM...to the left of the emergency brake and see if the small black cover has been removed.

If you can take a vid of the blow by and then the white smoke at start up and we will be able to see if it is normal or not.

Okay will do. When I get up Tommorow morning I'll take a video of the start up and the blow by and post a like to you tube.

As far as the Pcm it looks like the black cover has been taken off, I'm sure the previous owner had one in here.
With the right scanner tool would I be able to delete any old tunes left in here by the previous owner?

No. That does not look bad at all.

I am not aware of any scan tool that will delete the flash on a PCM.

You could have it re-flashed by a dealer: $120, or a shop that has the capability.

Where are you located? Can you fill in your signature so that we can better assist you in the future?

Here's a free and easy thing to try: Unplug your ICP sensor connector before your cold start. It will set off the SES light, but your PCM might change the ICP and you could see a change in behavior.

Hey guys I took a video of today's start up

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=nwzGlk-RyW8

Think it's a glow plug related issue

So I checked the omhs of my glow plugs I hope I did it right. It's the 2 pins on each side of the valve cover harness right ?
Well if I did it right the readings I got were . 0.8 on the driver side all the way through the 4 pins.
And the right side I got .9 for the furthest pin to the firewall the next one to it I got 1.2 then second closets pin to the bumper I got .9 then he closets to the bumper pin I got 1.6. Soo what does this all mean lol ?

I'd click the UVCH link in my signature and check your injector solenoids as well. If the connector has issues, everything will misbehave.

If you see the letters UVCH together below this text... click on that with your mouse. Almost everything in my signature (signatures are below posts on the forum) is a link that's useful for one reason or another.

If you are on the smart phone, I am unsure if there is an answer for this. To play it safe, here is the [LINK]
