I have the DP Tuner that I can upload tunes to it Via laptop. I have Auto Enginuity software, can you let me know what data I should log? The engine feels like it is "Missing" a little (as it is running a little rough).
The smoke smells EXTREMELY rich with fuel. I have tried starting the engine NUMEROUS times across all my various tunes and there is no difference. This same scenario has occurred in ALL engines that I have used these injectors in since day one, however this time I sent them away for testing and apparently had nozels changed to reduce the chances of it being a "Leaking" injector.
In that case, if it is not proprietary, you may simply want to call Matt at Gearhead and see if he will send you a stock tune and or a light tow tune to try out based upon your set-up using his parameter map...he has done that for a friend. If the smoke persists then that eliminates the tunes.
Don't over think this. I have been down this road way to many times. If you have good conpression, these are your possible outcomes:
Smoke is white and smells like fuel when oil is under 150'ish degrees(scanner verified) and clears up when fully warm, it is TUNING. I don't care what your tuner says. Very few people in this business will admit an F UP.
If you have a rougher idle when the oil temp is low and smooths out when the oil temp is normal ops temp it is your injectors. Simple as that.
Tuning can NOT cause a miss!
And injectors don't smoke white only when cold unless certain maps are set wrong.

Lots of great advice, thank you all! I spoke to Jody today and he is going to give me a different tune tomorrow to try. Sounds like he has some ideas and we might actually get to the bottom of this.
I'll let everyone know what we figure out!

Injector cups were done a few engines ago. And not going through coolant or oil, everything appears tight (and always was in the previous engines). This is the ONLY issue I have had with all these engines. Jody has sent me a tune to try, will run it for a couple days and let you all know if we are making any progress.
My DP tuner smokes a lot on a cold start. Usually try and switch it to stock before starting it and it's just fine
Mine above is stock mode. John told me everyone should start engine in Stock because some tunes have an additional 100 degrees of timing, and it's dangerous to start the engine with that much timing.
Mine smokes like above no matter what tune. Going to load new tune today and see if that helps.

I don't know a lot about how the tuning actually works on these diesels, but that seems WAY excessive. I don't think the engine would even run.
