Where's the water coming in from?

Hi Guys,
So when it rains in Phoenix once a year or so I get water coming down the kick panels and accumulating on the floor. I repaired the rust on the floor pans and put in a rubber floor instead of carpet but still would like to know we're it is coming from. I rains so seldom I'm never in a good place to take the dash apart to track it down. Does anyone have the same problem? It happens on both sides, oh my truck is a 73 standard cab F100.

Thanks
Dan

Have the air vent bowls on each side ot the cowl ever been cleaned out? If they are clogged, water will overflow through the vent hole.

Another potential source are the wiper posts. Sometimes the triangular seals are deteriorated... and some times where water ends up is far from where it intrudes the cab.

Any holes drilled for door speakers? A lot of people drill them way too big.

Just grab a hose and run it over one of the sides. Shouldn't take long to figure out.

I would say it's your windshield leaking from a faulty gasket.

I had a water leak that was quite hard to track down, turned out to be along the seam where the kick panel and floor come together. The cowl troughs are on the other side of this seam, so when it would rain water would seep in and trickle down into the floor. It was so subtle it took me forever to find. I ran a nice bead of sealant along the entire seam, both sides just to make sure, problem solved.

Good to see this was brought up i have the same problem . I think mine is the wind shield gasket or the wiper post as i have cleaned out the cowling area. Very helpful advise here.

Thanks everyone, it started raining today so I pulled it in and took the dash out and found it is coming from the bottom corner of the windshield. So tomorrow when I get home and it's dried out I'll put some window sealant on it.
