Mines not new but about 4 years now and still steers like a new truck.

Same here, installed a few years ago and works great, no issues. Never drove one of these new but I imagine it is like that.

Wish Red Head did tie rods and ball joints.

Got him back this afternoon. Finally drives like a new truck, very happy. I guess I should have done this earlier chasing the wandering. Might have saved a few "Kilobucks". Anyway all of the front end is new so all is well on the "Western Front". ( NE Cal )
Hope you all have the same experience.

Mike

I got mine on last weekend and I love it. Truck stays where I point the wheel, and when I let go it return to center again. very little play between the steering wheel and the tires now. Glad I got mine.

Mine has been on the bench since this weekend. It's hot and I'm still working long hours... but I'll get to it.

My wife said I had a package, but it was really heavy. My eyes lit up and I asked her "Do you want to see something really pretty?" She watched me open the box and as soon as she saw the Red Head, she said "Oooo.... that is pretty. Is that the steering thing?"

Gotta love a wife that fully supports the hobby.

Been driving mine at bit lately and will be heading out on a road trip tomorrow. Found that I can actually take my hands off of the wheel (to switch from burger to coke) and tracks straight down a very bumpy stretch of highway. Awesome!

Group buy guy here. They sent it to the wrong address and then the post office said they were going to forward it to me. I never got it, called Redhead and they just received it. It was Redhead's fault for sending it to my old address, but the post office should of forwarded it to me and not Redhead. They had my old address on file from a previous purchase, but since I had to phone the order in the guy must of lost my new address information. I hope they credit my card soon, 455 dollars is lots of money.

I was suppose to get mine but a day before the 3 day window I had a family emergency that took priority so I missed out. Everything is fine now. Sorry about that if the discount is less because of me.

I've had mine for a while I don't know three months. No problems it's really great compared to my stock one. Barley any play at all. And as everyone else says drives like a new truck !! I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. The only thing I had was getting my core $ back which took about a week After they got mine. But I got the full refund !

All is well in Hood River OR!

These are rebuilt OE units using better parts and tighter tolerances than in the early 2000's.

So, it probably "Drives "Better than NEW!"

Have had one for about a year now.
Did my first long road trip a couple weeks ago - 4300 miles.
Took time to pay attention to the steering response when I was on the brand new very flat concrete of I-29 in S.Dak.
Steering was fingertip control.
Truck would move with as little as a quarter to a half inch tweak of the wheel.
Very satisfied with my Red Head.

Group buy guy here- got the Excursion box installed last week- what a difference! Only 107k on the stocker, thought it was pretty good. Truck would move around in the lane in the wind or on bad pavement, so I adjusted the stock box a few times- about 5/8 of a turn total.
After installing the Redhead box, OH Man! Truck is fantastic! Stays in the lane in the wind with one finger on the wheel.
No more correction, then correct the over correction, etc. Very happy.

This week I'll be replacing the original in my '96 F150 that I bought new.
