honest opions

ok i pulled off my heads to day to find the driver side head is cracked and the pass. is new...... now would u guys rec. i put on a new head or find a new motor...... it has 290,000 on it now

Lets see here, you are saying one head is shot and the other is new? If so then just get a new head and youre in good shape, thats saying the block is good. What caused this, was this in another thread? Overheat?

as far as we can tell someone had a head job done and the cracked head had some magna flux on it so my guess is it got extremly hot, they sloped it together and sold it and the crack got bigger while the po had it.... it never ran hot on me nor was the fulids mixed.. it leaked a lil oil and used a lil coolant, but ran pretty good. i found some new friends that no idis in and out and both look more upset about than i did when we pulled it off...im afraid the bottom end will fail if i just put a new head on with the miles that are on it...
