Squeak in the Rear Interior

Hey Everyone,

So I want to post on this, though I know there are several old threads on this topic. I have a 2008 F-450 with the King Ranch interior. Every time I hit a bump in the road, I hear a squeak in the back. It sounds like it coming from the pillar behind the door, but I can't seem to find anything that is loose or would cause this noise. I hear nothing when the window is open (from outside the cab), so I don't think it is a body mount or anything.

I've seen posts on this saying it is the back seat and I've completely taken mine out and checked every bolt and made sure it isn't rubbing on anything.

This is the 3rd crew cab truck i've had and my 2005 made the same sound, though not as frequently. My 99 also made the same sound, again not as frequent as this truck. This truck does it all the time when empty, but seems to do it a little less when loaded down, probably because the suspension is absorbing more of the bump. I can't believe this is isolated to my trucks and I am wondering if anyone has identified this noise. It is literally driving me crazy. This is my only complaint on the truck, so someone please help. Any ideas I can look at?

Thanks in advance!

Fold the back seat down and drive it like that too see if the noise goes away. If it does, then spray some lube on the latches before you put the seat back up.

It squeaks whether up or down. I will spray some lube on the latch. You're making me wonder if it is something internal in the seat.....

I'd think more people would have made comments on this if it was.

It can be surprising to find out where noises come from. I've had things stuffed into the back pockets of the front seats that make annoying noises. Just figured out yesterday after at least two months where an annoying thunking noise was coming from - a jack that was a little loose and bouncing in a hidden compartment in the back.

Same squeak with my truck, after months I finally figured out that the tailgate has a mild squeak on the latches, and I'd swear to it that its in the cab the noise sounds so close. So don't rule out exterior noise just yet, these trucks carry sound very well.

Well you could have someone ride in the back seat to see if their weight makes the noise go away. If you have a sliding rear window, open it to see if the noise is louder or the same to rule out exterior noise. And double check to make sure your dog didn't leave one of his toys somewhere...
