Replacing 240 with 300 - what to do with the 240

I am probably going to replace my 240 in my 71 F100 with an engine from Carolina Engine Manufacturing. They will be providing me a 300 CID long block. It's cheaper for me to keep my engine than shipping/core charges for sending it back.
Any thoughts about what the heck should I do with it. I will be pulling stuff off of it for the transfer, but in the end will have roughly the equivalent of a long block with bad valves and not sure what else.

The 240 head is generally considered a performance upgrade for the 300 (has more compression).
Otherwise, put it on Craigslist? I know the block I pulled out of mine wasn't rebuildable, so it went to the recycle yard. Got $15 for it too!

In my opinion, the 240 is the better engine of the two, in the same way a 327 Chevy smallblock is a better engine than a 400. If you need a big engine, sure, use the 300. But if for instance you were building yourself an old Fairlane coupe, as a nice driver rather than as a juvenile's street racer, the 240 would be a great choice. Not factory-stock; the inline six was the company's low-cost option, so there's a lot of room for upgrades, whether 300 or 240.

A 240 would be a good choice for a lighter vehicle - like a F-100 short bed, or in a lightweight sedan.

Also, they are more favorable for competition where the rules stipulate cubic inches-to weight because of their higher specific output capabilities.

I bought a van with a 240 that was locked up, I ended up buying a 300 long block out of a running truck for $100 so now I'm building a coffee table out of my 240 block
