On the passenger side end of the dash there's a small cover below the side defrost vent. Looks like an icon of a fuel pump but I can't find anything in the manual about it. Saw it when cleaning the interior.
Fuel pump cutoff switch/reset? In case of roll-overs/accidents it cuts off power to the lift pump on the frame
I thought maybe something like that but when I looked up fuel pump cutoff in the manual it just said there was an auto cutoff for accidents and cycle the key to enable it again. Icon looks like a fuel pump with a line through it though.
Another use for that inertia switch, it can help in the event of a fuel issue as well.
Accidently pour DEF in your tank, disconnect that switch to simulate it tripping.
That way, when the key is turned to on to place into neutral for rolling on a flat bed, the LPFP doesn't suck up that bad tank of fuel.
That's if the tow truck operator doesn't know or think to unplug the shift lever wire from the transmission.
HDslider tested the switch awhile back based on a discussion and those were his results if I'm remembering correctly.
Maybe he'll comment.
Kyper. You are correct. You must physically disconnect wire connector at inertia switch. Or it will reset as soon as the key is turned to run.
Like Kyper said if you suspect def or whatever in fuel. Do not let tow truck just get it.unhook the connector 1st. Then they can turn key all they want and pump wont run.
