Grinding Noise
Still got some problems with my "new" 2000 Navigator.
When i drive down the street there is a grinding noise. you can hear it, when you drive faster than 20 mph at accelaration. i only have to tip on the speed-pedal and i can hear it. when i decalerate it takes three seconds and you can hear it again. it gets a little bit faster when i drive faster. sometimes it dissapeares when you drive down a bad road, but only for one second.
Brakes?
Front axle differential?
I know it is not easy to talk about subjective noises...maybe somebody had the same problem!!

In that case I would first examine the brakes to see if they're worn down. There is a metal wear indicator tab on the pads. When this tab makes contact with a moving rotor you'd swear your front end is about to explode.
