Engine suddenly quits

I am having a mysterious and very frustrating problem. While driving to work Friday the truck just died, no sputtering. Figured it might be the CPS so I switched it out and no start, but SES light on. Code reader shows no codes though! Disconnected battery and then it started again, no SES light. Drove about 100 yards and it cut out again. Switched out another CPS (yes I had 3 in the truck) and it started, idled for about 15 seconds and then cut out. Got it towed home. Thought maybe it was a fuel issue. Put a new fuel filter in (and replace the Dahl 100 in line filter and it started and ran fine for a half hour. Also read about issues with the IPR so I tok it out and checked it, perfectly clean. Reinstalled and the truck ran fine yesterday. Ran a quick errand this morning and it cut out again, SES light came on. Tried to read the codes and no codes showing again! Turned off the switch, turned back on and the SES light was not on and it started just fine and so I quickly drove the 2 minutes back home. No SES light on now, but did show P0603 and P1000? Seems like some kind of electrical issue that just kills the engine instantly, sometimes not allowing it to start back up.
Any ideas on what to try next?
Thanks!!

I would check the IPR wire harness for damage. If the harness is good then I would replace the IPR coil next.

Another good thing to try is to wiggle the engine harness at idle and see if you can duplicate the issue.

Check your ICP sensor wire plug to make sure there's no oil in there. If so, it's likely needing replacement.

My money is also on the IPR coil. But check your wiring as well.

Is there a way to test the coil or is it something I just replace?

OK, looked at the ICP sensor and when I pulled it out it is definitely moist with oil (not pooling in the connector). Can this cause intermitent issues like the ones I am experiencing? I will get one of these ordered this evening along with a IPR just to make sure. I have read a few posts about replacing the connectors, is this a common issue that I should consider replacing at the same time or just stick with a new ICP sensor?

OK so I replaced the ICP sensor (which was moist with oil inside) as well as soldered a new connector and wire harness on. Started the truck and about 10 seconds later it died with the SES light on. Read the code and it was 1208 (low ICP signal from what I have researched). Cleared the code and it started right back up, idled for about 20 seconds and stopped, no code or SES light. Started right back up, idled for about 10 minutes while wiggling all the wire harnesses I could find without an issue. Drove it around the block twice with no issues and then idled in the driveway for about 30 minutes no issues. So my question is when you replace the ICP sensor has anyone else had issues right after the install? Is this normal?
Thanks

Without a scan tool or gauges... this is all a crapshoot. All we have is a list of most-likely root causes until we know some readings. I can say that clogged intake screens in the fuel tank and air in fuel can cause everything you describe. The Hutch mod is a link in my signature to address this "theory".

Thanks for the info. I have already done both tank mods and replaced the fuel filters. By removing the ICP sensor and allowing air into the system, would this cause a momentary glitch causing the engine to quit until the air moves through?

Another update, the truck died 100 yards from my house this morning. I did get an IPR coil and harness so those will be the next items. One wierd issue this morning is when I turned it to the on position, the Wait to Start light was not on, but the SES light was? cycled the key switch and it went back to normal witht eh Wait to Start light on and no SES light. Looks like I might be investing in the AE software soon.
