What's the Ford part number marked on the package?

If no package/no number, measure the length.

Looks like it's for a cab over. Maybe a GM product.

There's no running board listed in the 1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog that's 38" long. The shortest board listed is 39.13" long for 1953/56 F700/900.

1957/86 C Series Tilt Cabs have the running boards mounted in front of the fenders and they're squarish.

The closest I can come up with: B7C-16450-A Right & B7Y-16451-A Left .. 37.50" long Running Boards-mount in front of Flareside rear fenders.

1957/66 F350 w/9' Express Flareside Bed.

But to me, this running board looks GMish, suggest you look at 1947/55 Chevy/GMC 'Advanced Design' pickups, panels and COE's.

Possible scenario:

Guy bought a pile of NOS parts, possibly from a Ford Dealer. Many moons ago, they had ordered this board for a customer they had sold a Chevy truck to. Customer never came back and got it.

1976: I bought a huge pile of obsolete Ford parts from the dealer in Trona CA. Included was a right rear fender rubber stone deflector for a 1946/48 Chrysler/DeSoto.

This mom and pop dealer also had several pre 1886 Colt SAA's for sale ('bulls eye' ejectors). After buying the parts, I didn't have enough cash, they wouldn't take a check or CC.

The following Saturday, I drove back up there. Dealership had BURNED to the ground!

The ribs look wrong to be Ford. I'm with the others and think it's probably GM. It has that shape and color.
