Gemmer manual steering box grease

Looking to lube a Gemmer manual steering box with the proper grease. I have read the threads on this and am a little confused. If I use XG1C or C3AZ-19578-A ...how do I get the grease gun to pump the grease into the fill hole on the top of the unit?. Do I remove the quick connect fitting on a grease gun( somehow or snap in a new fitting into the gun) )and just squeeze in grease til it over flows?. I have also read where GL 4 hypoid was recommended in my steering box. Please clarify for me?

The Gemmer takes Hypoid Gear Lubricant. AKA 90 weight gear oil same as your front and rear axle.

C2AZ-19580-A above -25 degrees
C2AZ-19580-B below -25 degrees.

The T98 takes SAE 50 weight engine oil above 10 degrees, and SAE 30 engine oil below 10 degrees.

You should have an NP435 unless its been changed out. Have you looked at how your shifter is held into the trans. If you have a cap where the shifter goes into the trans that unscrews its a T98 if you have to push down on a spring to release the shifter its an NP. Your shift pattern on the NP for reverse is over to passanger side and back if towards the dash it is an T98.
