Manual Steering Box Lube?

I have just finished taking my 65 F100 manual steering gearbox apart and have cleaned and inspected it.
The box is in near perfect shape, no pitting on the races or worm gear due to only 82,000 miles of easy use.
What type of grease do I use inside this box. The 43 year old stuff inside was really thick grease, almost like tar.
I was going to use some Redline CV grease with a small amount of 140w trans oil mixed in to thin it out some.
What did Ford use in these boxes?
Thanks, Doug

I tried 90w because that's what my last manual steering truck took, but it just ran out the bottom of the box on my 69 F250. I went and packed it pretty full of moly-graphite grease, haven't had any problems in the last few years even though the box was almost dry when I got the truck.

When I rebuilt my 1954 GMC manual steering box I filled it with RedLine MT-90 Full Synthetic lube.

Those older boxes frequently used 'semi-fluid' lube that's pretty much NLA in most places.
There are specialty places that advertise in Hemmings that can supply a replacement for $$$.
One trick that gets used pretty frequently in the Studebaker world, especially with worn seals, is to install a zerk on the fill plug and pump the box full of CV-joint lube or old-school corn head grease
