ok, ive never had any experience in customer access wiring or anything like that, ive always ran my own wires, installed my own fuses, distribution blocks, relays etc.
can someone with more knowledge of these give me some lessons on which wires, fuses, relays etc and anything else and how to tap into them if its not as simple as i hope it is? i kow everything can be more complicated than it seems
i plan on doing some electrical additions in the future and it would be nice to be able to use some oem equipment instead of running everything new.
thank you!
I know ford included some wires threw the firewall for wiring up stuff. I used one of the wires for my trans temp gauge. Slick little deal.
As for tapping into fuses and relays, I am not a huge fan unless you are using the tapped wire for small voltage stuff like a gauge illumination or the like. In which case I like to just splice off the factory wire but in a nice way.
Personally I try to avoid cutting any factory wires for anything.
Here is a link to the fog light mod I did on my X in which I included pics of how I normally try to wire off factory wires.
