2000 injector pump
my friend recently bought a 2000 ford f-250 with a 7.3 liter. We just put a super chip power programer in. We installed a propane kit and are now curious if we can turn the pump up. looking to gain a little power and a more black smoke. what can we do if you cant adjust the pump?

He plans to install injectors but has to save a little money up for that. the thing we were not sure of is if you can turn the pump up like you could on the older style powerstrokes.

I don't think you can turn up the pump. These engines are all electronically controlled, unlike the old 7.3 IDI. Now you have to buy a chip or a microtuner instead of being able to just up the output from the pump.

A 7.3 PSD does not have an injection pump per say,rather it has a high presure oil pump which feeds oil to fire the electronicly fired injectors, that ford calls the "injection pump". It has nothing to do with the quantity or timing of the fuel being delivered. If you need more fuel you need bigger (and very expexsive)injectors.

First thing he can do is ditch the tuner and get a chip with some real power, he's not even close to the limits of the stock injectors with a tuner. Then he'll need a high flow intake, big exhaust, stage II's, and a bigger turbo, plus a fuel system, modified HPOP, new cam, etc, etc, etc. How fast does he want and how much $$$ does he have.

From what I hear on the diesel stop you can run a 4 way chip and a SCMT for some sick power
All the add on boxes are basically adjustable ICP resistors, you can build your own for a lot less green.
