Power disc brakes, What do I need?

I have installed the spindles and disc brakes from a 73’ F100 2WD onto my 65’ F100 2WD. Having some trouble with the master cylinder / brake booster off a converted 68’ F100 not lining up with the brake pedal. What went wrong? What parts do I need in the master cylinder / brake booster / pedal area of this conversion? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Smitty Welcome to FTE & the Slicks forum.

Will you give us more info on what you mean "not lining up with the brake pedal"?

I retained the pedal in my 66. I had to relocate the hole in the booster arm to allow the pedal to be closer to the floor if that is the issue.

With my 65’ brake pedal up, the pedal hole is just about 5/8’’ closer to the fire wall than the booster linkage hole. I could easily drill a new hole on the booster linkage to lineup with the pedal but it so close to the stock hole I’m worried the ill end up with and oval hole on the booster linkage and that just doesn’t sound like the right thing to do on the brake system.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

This is what I did for my conversion. My pedal ended up being within a quarter of an inch from the original height of the old setup. You have plenty of room to set your pedal height where you want it. Your pedal doesn't have to be exactly in the same spot as before. Just drill the hole where you think it is safe.

Thanks for the photo, that’s exactly what I’m looking at on my truck. I was wondering if there was a better year choice for the donor truck parts for this conversion but it sounds like drilling a new hole in the booster linkage is the norm for this conversion. Thanks Mark.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Mark That is zackly what I was referring to. Now while your new 3:00 side is about 1/4" from the old 9:00 side the cl to cl is about an inch +/-.

Just another solution to consider, I blocked my bracket away from the fire wall using two pieces of 1/4" steel plate and kept the holes where they are, involved some additional fabrication but it also works.
