98 F150 engine swap no head temp sensor??? what to do???

Long short of it i took a motor out of a 94 Thunderbird with 30k miles 4.6l v8
Got a problem there is no temp sensor on the head so i got no place to place the sensor i have tried splicing it into the coolant temp sensor with no luck

Question i have is either

1) where could i put it to hopefully get my mileage back up

2) i can fake it and just have trouble when its cold and just put a resister in there but what is the resistance on the temperature sensor at normal operating conditions

Here is an indepth comment on your situaton.
Will the truck camshaft install wth the same for line up amnd Cam shafter sensor fit?
Is the combustion chamber the same design and volume?
Does the intake match up?
If yes, look at the possibility of drilling and tapping the casting in the same location.
It that works be sure to use good sealant on the threads.
The CHT has a number of funtions.
1. It's value is used as a basis for setting hot and cold starts.
2. It affects fueling at all times.
3. It can detect a stuck open or closed thermostat.
4. I can initiate a Limp mode if the temp goes to high that alternates shutting down cylinders.
While you can fool the PCM enought to run, the drivability will suffer and loss of certain protections.
Good luck.
