i didint see an introduction section but id just like to introduce myself to all here.
to start, my name is Jerry. Im 24 live in central CT. bought my first ford. 1980 F150 custom, hence where my sreen name came from. ive been a gear head since my dad had me turning wrenches on his mustang II fast back when i was 4. unfortunatly currently unemployed but once i get my truck going ill be able to pick up mowers and get back to landscaping.
my truck is an all original 1980 F150 custom with 98000 miles. 302 stock 2 barrell with 3 on the tree. the 3 speed is something differant for me cause ive never driven one on the column. the truck needs work but for being bought brand new by my buddies grandfather in 1980 and being in CT all its life there is not alot of rot. need to do driver side bottom door skin, both cab corners, bed floor, and just a few tiny spots on the bed. im going to wire wheel all surface rust off the frame and seal it, maybe with ryno lining.
ive just started on the project, have some pics up already in the garage i believe. i will be posting more pictures as i slowly fix things. ive already started taking the surface rust off the body as you could see if you look at the photos. looking forward to finally have my 2wd v8 standard pick up that ive always wanted. and it is a great base for a project. and also looking forward to getting to know people around here and help if i can cause i know ill need the help (as i already have a post about my clutch ) but that will get solved when i pull the tranny tomorrow. thanks for your time.
I'm subscribed as well. I think you will find FTE to be an amazing site. As a die hard Ford fan I have found no other site better. I must admit my wife does not find the same affection for this site seeing as it puts ideas in my head
I'm starting to read through your thread as well Grubbworm. From what I've seen its a good looking truck. I can't wait to get home in Aug. and start on mine. read through these builds, and it fuels my desire to build mine
