COMPILATIONS Idea
This is a trial balloon....
Over the years, I'd stumbled across so many great threads on this site and then lost track of them. My searches bring up pages and pages of threads. And then there's the odd photo with something unusual that I can NEVER seem to relocate.
So I thought we could create a series of thread-of-thread threads where everyone could copy in threads we think others might find interesting with a short description, page number, posting number(s), etc. as applicable.
Off the top of my head here's a few of many topic ideas using a consistent naming format so they can be found and added to easily.
COMPILATION - Cool Excursion Photo Threads
COMPILATION - Cool Mods Threads
COMPILAITON - Odd Trivia Threads
...
Your thoughts?
If it works, lets start some. If I can ever relocate the ones I love I'll start a thread and post them too. :-( i.e. There was one where a guy sandblasted the entire undercarriage and painted it green with POR-15 or something. then there's the Ex with the dual battery set up and possibly my posts asking about mounting a second battery under the truck...

You say that like it's an odd thing. My Ex came from the factory with a two battery setup.

What subject matters (subject lines) would be appropriate for the first few threads?
Could instead title the threads LINKS... instead of Compilation... but might get a load of links to other sites.
Eg.

How about "DIRECTORY - Door Seal Mod". It doesn't matter really, as long as the word is obvious. Whoever makes the first thread could have the honor (I recognize that Stewart has already made a thread of this type regarding spring swaps).

Great idea! I just read a thread that someone bought a new EX and another guy posted about the three F's (fluid, fuel, filter). Basically it was a maintenance post. It had good info but now I can't find it. It described how to change the differntial fuilds and transfer case.

In the future, searching for for "Compilation" shouldn't pull up to many hits so hopefully the threads can be relocated and built upon. I thought of using "Best of" etc. but that would just invite a ton of extraneous posts.
Topics like maint. are tough because you can keep splitting up issues into finer detail. FUIDS would quickly spawn demands for TRANS FLUIDS, ec. I'll leave it to the pros that care to come up with appropriate subject lines to minimize redundancy. Even "Mods" may be far to broad a heading.

I'm not poo-pooing this idea (I like it), it just seems some of the suggestions cross-over and have already been covered.

Yes, I've seen the steering wander issue compiled and linked too as well. (a lot of work on the part of one or two users). Great stuff. Thanks!
I was hoping for something more casual that any user could post to just to bring neat stuff together in a few topical but easy to find threads. Not stickies as a bunch of "compilations" would then just push other new threads way down the main page.
