Auto Hubs 1995 F150

I am attempting to install automatic hubs from a 1996 Bronco onto my 1995 F150. I know most people hate auto hubs.....long story, but they're going on! The problem is, they don't seem to fit??? The auto hubs are at least an inch deeper and obviously have more moving parts. Has anyone done this project or can help? Both hubs (auto and manual) were held on with three torx bolts. Thank You!

Sounds like you might have the wrong hubs. You might have the larger ones for a 3/4 ton with the Dana 50 front axle.

Did you swap out the hub/wheel bearing nuts? They are completely different between the manual and auto hubs and are likely cause of the issue here.

Didn't even think about that. I guess I was thinking the truck already had automatic hubs and was just replacing them, not going from manual to automatic. (Why anyone would want to do that is beyond me, but to each their own)

So I guess you don't care whether your four wheel drive works or not?

When you end up stuck in the mud like I was with my auto hubs, don't say no one told you so!

WhiteMax is correct-you need the wheel bearing nuts & retainers for the auto hubs.
If you can't get the old ones off the donor truck, you'll need 2 Ford part #F6TZ-3N105-AA, but be forewarned, they're ridiculously expensive.

(I won't go into the whole "why would you install auto hubs on the truck" controversy)

You guys must be jobless and very bored! Any mechanics on here. Are you smarter than the Ford engineer that engineered these? I don't drive through 2' of mud. So.......after all these wonderful and helpfull suggestions, I think I will venture on my own.

Employed mechanical engineer here...in the heavy equipment field. The auto hubs are simply a fail-prone design. That's all there really is to it.
