How much smoke will be generated with emissions deleted, new intake and programmer if the programmer is on the lowest setting? I have always had agressive sounding trucks but this does not seem possible on the 6.7 without deleting the emission componets. Do I have more legal choices? This is my first diesel so its been a steep learning curve.
Probably very little. Even a straight piped 6.0 diesel makes very little unless you really get after it on a hot tune. Watch out for 6.0 and 7.3 trucks on the road and pay attention, lots of them are tuned.
I really want to do it but I looked at the fines if you are ticketed and now I am second guessing my self. Trying to get the truck done before the baby comes this summer. I have been watching other diesels and the ones with the banks, bully dog, etc. stickers appear to be bone stock. I heard the sticker adds 50 hp!!
The days of the old smokey, slow moving diesel's are long gone. There's no need or reason to have more than just a puff of smoke on older diesels (80's +) and even less than a puff on new stuff.
If you are blowing smoke you are throwing $'s out the window and pissing off the people that already think diesel's and their drivers are A-holes.
Sorry but the smoking thing is a sore spot. I've owned and driven semi's since the early 70's and diesel pickups since the 80's.
Mine has very very little smoke on stock setting. Ive been very happy with mine. No more def is the best part. Tranny tunes suck, so I dont use them. H&S.
