Ok so I got new brackets for my brakes used the high heat brake lube on them and put my new rotors on after replacing the bad ball joints on the drivers side and all of the fun that entailed.
so now the breaks feel much better but the ex wants to pull to the right a little bit and at low speeds when i first start moving there is a squeaking noise that goes away when I apply the brakes. It also seems to go away after I have gotten up to 40 mph or so and doesn't seem to come back again till after i park it and it sits for a bit. What should i be looking for? or is this not a big deal
Ok so what are my options other than replace the caliper if it is sticking? It didn't take any more than the usual amount of force to compress it for the new pads, if anything it went in easier than the drivers side did, does that mean anything?
On the pulling to the right, you do not so much feel it in the steering wheel but if you let go of the wheel it does not stay true very long seems to go right faster than what I have experienced in the past with other cars.
Does any of this info shed more light on the problem?
Lift both front tiresoff the ground. Pump the brakes a bunch of times and then see if the right side is harder to turn by hand. If it is then I would say that you have a sticking caliper or caliper slide. But I would have thought that the slides would have been replaced with the brackets.
I sure someone makes a rebuild kit for the caliper. I would just replace it though. When they start sticking it is usually because the pistons are rusted or gaulded up. And the pistons usually don't come in the rebuild kits
