88 f150 302 won't start

88 f150 302 won't start
I have a 88 f150 that quit running. It cranks over but won't start. I do not hear the fuel pump running when the key is on. Very little fuel comes out of the fuel rail when I push the needle valve down on the fuel rail. The fuel shut off switch is not tripped. Any suggestions where to start or should I drop the tank and change the fuel pump.

First off check to see if you are getting spark. If you are then change the fuel filter. If it still doesnt run then i would take the tank off and change the fuel pump. Just some advice, the fuel pump is a pain to do with the bed on. Make sure you have someone their to help you with it or else it is going to be a nightmare.

It is located on the drivers inter fender, photo below.
If shorting 2 to 6 with the key on does not run the pumps try grounding pin #6 to the NEG (-) post of the battery.
I would do some checking before changing out the pumps.

After jumpering all that out, still didn't work. Notice a plug on negative side battery cable, not plugged in. Plugged it in and truck runs. Don't know why or how this got unplugged,( son's truck), but running now . Thanks for all the help.
